What does ebic stand for?
Enterprise Business Intelligence Catalog. It is one catalog of your reports and dashboards, backed by the metadata and governance catalogs you already run.
Do I need a card to start the trial?
No. Create an account with Google or your email and you can use everything for 14 days. You only enter payment details if you choose a plan.
What happens when the trial ends?
The app asks you to choose a plan. Nothing is charged automatically, because we never had your card. Subscribe and you carry on where you left off.
Does ebic.io copy my dashboards or their data?
No. Reports are displayed by your BI tool, and catalog details are read from your catalog when you look at them. None of it is sent to us or stored by us. The only thing we store about you is your account and your subscription.
Do my existing permissions still apply?
Yes. Each report opens in the viewer for its BI tool with the sign-in and permissions you already have there, and your catalog access token carries your own catalog permissions. ebic.io can’t show you anything you couldn’t already open.
Which data catalogs can I connect?
OpenMetadata today. Collibra, Apache Atlas and DataHub are planned. If one of those is what you run, tell us and we’ll let you know when it’s ready.
Where is my catalog access token kept?
On your own device. You enter it in the app’s settings, and it is sent only to your catalog. It is never sent to us.
How do I change plan, update my card or cancel?
In the app, open Settings and choose Manage billing. If you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Who is Paddle?
Paddle is our reseller and Merchant of Record. It runs the checkout, takes the payment, works out sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipts. Its name appears on your card statement.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 14 days of any payment. See the Refund Policy, or email support@ebic.io.
