The service
ebic.io, the Enterprise Business Intelligence Catalog, is an app for viewing the dashboards and reports you already have in your business intelligence (BI) tools, together with what your data catalog records about them: owners, tags, glossary terms, lineage, version history, conversations and announcements.
ebic.io displays content from systems that you or your organisation run. It doesn’t replace them, and it doesn’t give you access to anything you couldn’t already open in those systems.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
- Sign in with a Google account or an email address that works. We send important notices there.
- Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- If you use the service for a business, you confirm you can accept these terms on its behalf.
Your BI tools and your catalog
- You connect ebic.io to your catalog with an access token that you create there. Only use a token and systems you are authorised to use.
- You are responsible for your own licences and accounts for your BI tools and your catalog, and for following their terms.
- What you see in ebic.io depends on those systems. We aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy or availability.
- Messages and announcements you write in ebic.io are saved to your catalog, where other people with access to it can read them.
Free trial
A new account can use everything free for 14 days from the day it is created. You don’t enter payment details to start, and nothing is charged when the trial ends. To keep using ebic.io after the trial, choose a plan.
Plans, payment and renewal
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle’s Buyer Terms also apply to your purchase.
- Plans are subscriptions, billed in advance for each period, at the prices shown when you buy. Paddle adds sales tax or VAT where it applies.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the app (Settings → Manage billing). Your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- If you change plan, Paddle adjusts the charge for the rest of the period.
- We may change prices for future periods. We’ll email you at least 30 days before a price change affects your subscription, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
Acceptable use
You must not use ebic.io to:
- access systems or data you aren’t authorised to access;
- break the law, or infringe anyone’s rights;
- harass or threaten people in messages or announcements;
- spread malware, or attack, overload or probe the service;
- resell or provide the service to others without our written permission.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep the service running, but we don’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change or improve features. If we remove something important to your plan, we’ll tell you in advance and you can cancel with a pro-rated refund for the unused part of a paid period.
Ending your account
You can stop using ebic.io at any time, and close your account by emailing support@ebic.io. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or doesn’t pay. When an account is closed, we delete its data as described in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose. Decisions you make based on the dashboards and catalog information shown in ebic.io are your own.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For significant changes, we’ll email you at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before they take effect.
